AUBURN — Hefty Wealth Partners, an independent financial planning and wealth management firm, has elected three new partners: Edison Byzyka, Angela Lockwood and Brian Neal.
They are joining current partners David Hefty, Stacy Hefty and Douglas Lockwood.
Byzyka, CFA, is the chief investment officer of Hefty Wealth Partners. He is responsible for managing all portfolio strategies across various risk objectives, authoring the firm’s voice and leading all research and due diligence efforts.
Before joining Hefty Wealth Partners in 2013, Byzyka was with Tower Financial Corp. (currently known as Old National Bank) in Fort Wayne, where he served as an investments research analyst in the trust department for two years. Before joining Tower, he started his finance career at Navistar Inc. as a recovery data analyst in the finance department.
He is a graduate of Indiana University in Fort Wayne, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in finance with a minor in economics. He is a member of the CFA Society of Indianapolis, as well as the CFA Institute, and is a CFA charterholder.
Angie Lockwood, CPA, is chief operations officer at Hefty Wealth Partners. She is responsible for overall operational efficiencies and technology integration, as well as the execution of the firm’s investment advisor consulting division.
She most recently was chief financial officer for the DeKalb County Central United School District, where she managed a $50 million annual budget and also directed the human resources and technology functions for more than 500 employees. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Butler University, where she graduated with honors from the Butler College of Business.
Neal, AAMS, is a wealth partner at Hefty Wealth Partners, having joined the firm in early 2013. He works with clients to implement holistic, individualized wealth plans and to help them work toward their financial goals by providing objective advice.
Before joining Hefty Wealth Partners, Neal was a financial advisor for five years at Edward Jones. He also spent time in the automotive industry at Guardian Industries, working as a lean coordinator in process improvement. He studied industrial engineering at Ball State University, and also studied organizational leadership and supervision at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne.
